Danny Simpson – Business Boxing Pride, Passion, Persistence

Stop Competing Start Winning – Pride, Passion, Persistence

For those of you that know me you will know I am passionate about my 3 P’s – Pride, Passion and Persistence.  I love to tell and show people how these words, with there behavioural meanings and disciplines are vital to ensure success in life but more specifically in business.

Boxing is another passion of mine and also a great illustration of my 3 P’s;  as a result I would like to show you how you can apply Pride, Passion and Persistence into your everyday Business and Personal life, and be successful.

I am a HUGE Anthony Joshua Fan, he is an amazing sports personality and in my opinion could be as great a personality as Mohamed Ali. Every so often a rare talent enters their field and achieves great accolades and showcases their profession unbelievably well.  I think of people like Tiger Woods in Golf, Lewis Hamilton in F1, Cristiano Ronaldo in Football, etc.

I believe Joshua is going to be that legend for boxing.  Joshua is humble, grounded and has immense pride for boxing, as made him who he is today; passion with a love for winning and persistent, showing a real climb to success through good times and bad.

We watched our new Boxing Champion Anthony Joshua, defeat Klitschko in front of a sold out 90,000 Wembley crowd, and a box office record of television fans.  I believe he showcased the 3 P’s beautifully, as he always does.

Anthony Joshua showed exceptional mental strength, plenty of heart and resilience in the ring that Saturday night

Joshua started as he always does confident yet reserved as he settled into his surroundings, and the fight.  Joshua knocked Klitschko down in the 5th round and we all we thought he might have done it here, but the mighty Klitschko rose to his feet, to fight on.  Klitschko then took Joshua down in the 6th round.  Most of all I believe until this point, Joshua stuck to his plan, and looked confident.  While just like some businesses, Joshua got knocked down, and found himself in potential trouble.

Joshua got up and started to go through a process I believe every champion goes through at some point when competing. He did NOT, and was NOT going to lose right there in front of his 90,000 fans, his team and his watchers.  Pride, Passion and persistence got him off the canvas.

Passion for the sport, his past and his desire to win made him continue on through the remaining rounds.  He figured out what he needed to do to win the fight, whilst venturing into uncharted boxing territory.

Persistence and self belief allowed Joshua keep taking the punches and start to think smart about what his new strategy should be. In Anthony’s mind it was never in doubt that he would win; I believe he would have continued to get up time and time again. Through some tough criticism from the commentary with some people doubting if he could hold on and come back he persevered.

A strong mind, a strong team and the 3 P’s embedded in his way of working I believe was the reason Joshua went onto win, and become a bigger champion.

Consequently don’t allow worry in life or business to creep in when you get knocked down, or knocked back.  We must pick ourselves up, and keep going, reflecting on what happened.  As a result making sure you have the best people around you, with people who support you is also a huge part of winning.  Therefore remove negative vibes, and people from your life, choose winning attitudes and positive mindset, and don’t settle for anything else if you want to win.

Seems like you will always get people who have an opinion, and sometimes doubters, but channel this energy and apply it as focus to your goals, and you WILL SUCCEED…

O2 Hyde Raises £2,000 For Local Charity Cash For Kids

O2 store in Hyde raises £2,000 in charity cyclothon

Money to go to Cash for Kids in Greater Manchester.  Staff in O2 Hyde and shoppers at Clarendon Square have successfully pedalled their way to £2,000 after clocking up 500 miles in a superhero-themed cyclotron to raise funds for Cash for Kids.

Over the course of six days, the team at O2 donned superhero attire to host the ‘Superhero Spin’ cyclotron. The fundraiser was part of the annual Key 103 ‘Superhero Day’ for its charity Cash for Kids, which provides essential care and support for disabled and disadvantaged children across the Greater Manchester area.

Local Shoppers At O2 Hyde Loved It And Got Involved…..

The staff at O2 invited local shoppers to join them in-store for the 500-mile challenge, with customers also able to indulge in some home baked goods and enter raffles in exchange for donations. Rachel Armitt, the Store Manager at Hyde’s Clarendon Square’s O2 branch, was full of praise for her teammates and all who got involved in the activities.

“The fundraising efforts for ‘Superhero Spin’ were nothing short of amazing,” she said.

“The amount of people who supported the cause – either jumping on the bike or buying tasty treats on offer – showed just how close Cash for Kids is to many people’s hearts. It was a real community achievement so thank you to the public and of course, my superstar team at O2. The charity will be over the moon with this contribution.”

Paula Wood, Manager at Clarendon Square, was thoroughly impressed by the outstanding completion of the challenge.

“Well done and thank you to Rachel, her team and the people of Hyde for getting fully behind the cause and raising a terrific amount of money for Cash for Kids,” she said. “The funds will directly help children and young adults across our county so it’s really wonderful.”
